Visiting Hours
BirthPlace visiting hours are from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. Although a
baby's arrival is a very exciting and joyous occasion, it is also a time
when both mother and baby need extra rest. Extended family and friends
are asked to visit within the scheduled times. The baby's father, or
designated support person, may visit any time or stay overnight, if the
patient wishes.
Due to the seasonal flu and H1N1 virus, McLaren has implemented the
following visitor policy/practice.
- Healthy ADULTS only will be allowed to visit (no limit on
the number other than existing policies)
- No children 18 years and younger will be allowed to visit
(Exception: The father of the baby or birth coach will be permitted to
the BirthPlace if they are healthy, regardless of their age.)
- All visitors will be screened at the Patient Information Desk
located in the Main Lobby or at the Emergency Department Check-In.
- Visitors will be asked a series of questions related to fever,
cough, sore throat, etc. If a “yes” response is given to any flu-like
symptoms, the visitor will be asked to go home.
- After being screened for flu-like symptoms, all visitors will be
given a sticker to wear so employees will know they have checked in.
- Healthy adults are asked to consider limiting their
visits.
**Exception: These visiting regulations will be
waived
in the event of end of life situations.**
Thank you for helping to protect the health of our patients,
employees and community.
