Support Staff
An extended team of support is available for patients with cancer. Beyond those that provide treatment, there are resources to aid in the healing and recovery process. A registered dietician counsels patients on nutrition during and after treatment. A social worker can provide patients with assistance in addressing any special needs that arise with a cancer diagnosis.
For information on Nutritional Support during treatment, refer to the headings to left side of the home page. Patients are also welcome to call the dietician at 342-3800.
American Cancer Society
The American Cancer Society (ACS) is a source of support and information. An ACS volunteer staffs a dedicated patient resource area at GLCI-McLaren. The patient resource area includes print materials and online resources. Additional programs coordinated through ACS assist patients with transportation to and from treatment, Reach for Recovery program, and the Look Good Feel Better beauty and emotional healing program.
Transportation
Transportation services are available for patients to receive treatment. Transport to GLCI-McLaren is available at no cost. Please call GLCI-McLaren for more information at 810.342.3800.
