McLaren Regional Medical Center Is A Teaching Hospital
McLaren Regional Medical Center sponsors A.C.G.M.E. accredited residency programs in Internal Medicine, Family Practice, and Orthopaedic Surgery. All of these programs are affiliated with the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine.
The Medical Center is also a participating hospital in Michigan State University sponsored residencies in General Surgery, Radiology and a subspecialty residency in Hematology/Oncology.
STATEMENT OF COMMITMENT TO GRADUATE MEDICAL EDUCATION
McLaren Regional Medical Center will provide graduate medical education programs that will emphasize personal, clinical and professional development, and encourage an awareness of, and responsiveness to, ethical and humane aspects of health care among the health professionals.
The medical center will provide programs in graduate medical education which emphasize coordinated delivery of care with a community orientation. Special emphasis will be placed on training primary and selected specialty care providers.
The medical center will take advantage, as appropriate, of opportunities to work with other educational institutions in fulfilling its educational role. To support its education program, the medical center will provide the support for the educational, financial and human resources necessary to maintain quality Graduate Medical Education for the faculty and the residents. The medical center will also ensure that all of its graduate medical education programs meet or exceed all Institutional and Program Requirements promulgated by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education and its individual Residency Review Committees.
